The region of South-West Flanders is well-known for product design. With their regional pilot, COM³ partners Intercommunale Leiedal and Designregio Kortrijk stimulate innovation through the power of data and design.

Leiedal is the regional public partner for 13 municipalities in South-West Flanders. Its core activity is urban and regional development. In the Interreg North Sea project COM³, Leiedal,is leading the charge in using data to support local businesses and communities. Together with Designregio Kortrijk, Leiedal has been working on co-creation processes that identify opportunities in key areas such as energy, space usage, and material circularity.

By engaging with local companies and public authorities, Leiedal has helped to generate new product and service ideas, provided insights and inspiration for businesses in the region and beyond, and published helpful guidebooks and publications.

Kris Dekeyzer, a member of the Leiedal team, emphasizes the importance of embracing data to make informed decisions. “𝘈𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘪𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭.
