Staff and developers in municipalities, regions, and business support organisations work hard to make their regions attractive places to live, work, and invest in. Local businesses – as providers of services and goods, as employers, or as clients – contribute to the quality of life in a region. The COM³ project has launched a new e-learning course that provides inspiration and guidance to accompany rural businesses and help them thrive in the digital age.

Staff and developers in municipalities, regions, and business support organisations work hard to make their regions attractive places to live, work, and invest in. Local businesses – as providers of services and goods, as employers, or as clients – contribute to the quality of life in a region. In this context, local and regional public authorities have a key role to play when it comes to business support. Specifically, in rural areas, they can act as innovation facilitators and enablers, fostering a dynamic environment in which rural companies can make the most of digital opportunities, and contribute to a higher quality of life.

To support these efforts, the COM³ project has launched a new e-learning course that provides inspiration and guidance to accompany rural businesses and help them thrive in the digital age. The course shares nine good practices to support rural businesses, building on the learning of the COM³ project. It covers topics such as design-thinking, data, cooperation with universities, and provides practical tips and examples that staff can apply in their own context.

Perspectives from practitioners from all around the North Sea Region

One of the unique features of the course is the inclusion of testimonials from various COM³ partners from all around the North Sea Region, sharing their experiences and insights on supporting rural businesses. This adds a valuable perspective and helps learners understand how the good practices presented in the course can be implemented in different regions and contexts.

The COM³ e-learning course is designed for staff and developers in municipalities, regions, and business support organisations who want to help rural businesses thrive in the digital age. By enrolling in the course, learners will gain valuable knowledge and skills that they can apply in their work.

The COM³ e-learning course is now open and freely available to everyone. It is part of a series of 15 e-learning courses developed by the COM³ project.
