Small companies are especially vulnerable to high energy prices and supply uncertainties, as they lack the scale of larger enterprises to absorb the impact. The COM³ partners at Vinje Municipality and the University of South-Eastern Norway open a new meeting arena so that small companies can network, and learn from experts and from each other.

One of the main outcomes of Vinje and USN’s COM³ pilot is a new meeting arena for local businesses. On 2 November 2022, the third business meeting was organised at Vinjekroa in Åmot. Around 30 businesses attended.

First on the agenda was the local business support agency, who spoke about the upcoming national energy support scheme, and what businesses have to do to qualify. Next, a representative from the construction company Sweco provided the participants with some tips about energy efficiency, before the local power supplier informed them about the situation in the energy market.

In the second part of the meeting, the regional destination company presented an update on their work with a new regional tourism strategy, before the head of business support and the mayor presented news from the municipality.

The participants also enjoyed a nice meal and time to socialise with colleagues.
